چکیده
In the standard construction of a first-order equilibrium phase transition via the Gibbs criteria from a quark-gluon plasma (QGP) to a hot and dense hadron gas (HG), the appearance of a discontinuity in the entropy per baryon ratio (s/n) makes the phase transition at fixed temperature T and fixed chemical potential μ irreversible. Recently several papers have been addressed to the question of conserving the entropy per baryon s/n across the phase boundary. Leonidov et al. [1] have proposed a bag model equation of state (EOS) for the QGP consisting of massless, free gas of quarks and gluons using a (μ, T) dependent bag constant B(μ, T ) in an isentropic equilibrium phase transition from a QGP to the HG at a constant T and μ. Later Patra and Singh [2] have extended this idea to remedy some anomalous behaviour of such a bag constant B(μ, T ) through the inclusion of perturbative QCD corrections in the EOS for QGP. They have also explored the consequences of such a bag constant on the deconfining phase transition in the relativistic heavy-ion collisions as well as in the early Universe case [3]. The above mentioned analysis refers only to the stationary systems. But in the context of modern experiments on ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions, the dynamical evolution of the system within the framework of hydrodynamical models has to be incorporated E-mail: [email protected]

Ja n 19 97 Double Phase Transition Model and the problem of entropy and baryon number conservation
We continue to develop further the bag-type Double Phase Transition Model (DPTM) for transformation of Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) to normal hadronic matter (H-phase). The model is based on the assumed existence of an intermediate Q phase composed by massive constituent quarks and pions (as Goldstone bosons) 5, 6. In the present paper the problem of entropy S and baryon number N B conservation in ...
متن کاملNeutral Heavy Leptons and Electroweak Baryogenesis
We investigate the possibility that baryogenesis occurs during the weak phase transition in a minimal extension of the Standard Model which contains extra neutral leptons and conserves total lepton number. The necessary CP-violating phases appear in the leptonic Yukawa couplings. We compute the CP-asymmetries in both the neutral and the charged lepton fluxes reflected in the unbroken phase. Usi...
متن کاملPossible Cosmological Implications of the Quark - Hadron Phase Transition
We study the quark-hadron phase transition within an effective model of QCD, and find that in a reasonable range of the main parameters of the model, bodies with quark content between 10 −2 and 10 solar masses can have been formed in the early universe. In addition, we show that a significant amount of entropy is released during the transition. This may imply the existence of a higher baryon nu...
متن کاملEntropy Production in Collisions of Relativistic Heavy Ions – a signal for Quark - Gluon Plasma phase transition ?
Entropy production in the compression stage of heavy ion collisions is discussed within three distinct macroscopic models (i.e. generalized RHTA, geometrical overlap model and three-fluid hydrodynamics). We find that within these models ∼80% or more of the experimentally observed final-state entropy is created in the early stage. It is thus likely followed by a nearly isentropic expansion. We e...
متن کاملBehavior of physical observables in the vicinity of the QCD critical end point
Using the SU(3) Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model, we study the chiral phase transition at finite T and μB. Special attention is given to the QCD critical end point (CEP): the study of physical quantities, as the pressure, the entropy, the baryon number susceptibility and the specific heat near the CEP, will provide complementary information concerning the order of the phase transition. We also an...
